Pupil Absences (Education Welfare Act 2000)

All absences totalling 20 days or more have to be reported to the National Education Welfare Board.  Written confirmation to your child’s teacher is required, outlining the commencement date, the return date and the reason for being absent.  Phone calls to the school or verbal messages to the teacher are not sufficient.
